Kenya is making significant strides in the technology sector, with several key developments shaping its outlook for 2024 and beyond. One of the major initiatives is the government’s plan to start the development of 1,450 ICT hubs across all wards in the country.
This ambitious project, set to commence in 2024, aims to strengthen the grassroots ICT sector, bolster the digital economy, and create substantial job opportunities, especially for the youth. The ICT hubs are expected to support citizen digital literacy training, film production, and provide public access to government services. This move is part of Kenya’s broader digital superhighway project, underpinned by the Digital Masterplan 2022-2032.
