The Peruvian government has approved two programs to advance the digital economy and enhance digital inclusion. The digital economy program aims to boost e-commerce for micro, small, and medium-sized businesses, enhance digital transformation, technologize the financial system, and increase technology use in the public sector. The digital basic basket program focuses on promoting digital literacy, connectivity, and access to digital services in education, health, security, and rural public services.
By 2030, the government targets significant increases in the number of companies with virtual stores and SMEs adopting digital services, as well as improvements in digital maturity. The government also plans to increase internet access in public facilities and provide digital devices to students and teachers to bridge the digital divide, while enhancing telemedicine and digital skills training across the country.
