Digital Government Stack in Agriculture

The Indian government has launched a three-year initiative to implement Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) in agriculture, aiming to integrate over 60 million farmers into a formal land registry system. This initiative, known as Agri Stack, will also include a digital crop survey in 400 districts and facilitate the issuance of Kisan Credit Cards in five states.

The government’s role in this project involves creating an open-source, interoperable public system to enhance agricultural reforms and subsidy targeting, leveraging digital tools to streamline and modernize land and farmer data management.
