India’s Government Smart Cities Initiative

The Indian government plans to develop 12 new industrial smart cities across various states to boost domestic manufacturing and economic growth. These cities will complement eight existing urban manufacturing centers. The new projects, including developments in Andhra Pradesh and Bihar, will follow the model used in Greater Noida and Dholera.

The focus is on creating advanced infrastructure, such as IoT and AI-driven automation technologies, to enhance connectivity, sanitation, and transportation. This initiative aims to generate jobs, elevate GDP, and modernize India’s industrial landscape by providing comprehensive trunk infrastructure and streamlined approval processes.
