India’s New Digital Skills Policy

The India Government is advancing its digital workforce strategy through the Ministry of IT and Telecom’s plan to introduce a National Digital Skills Policy. This policy aims to address the global demand for skilled IT professionals by creating a robust framework for training in emerging technologies. The focus includes establishing High Impact Skills Boot Camps to provide intensive training in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and blockchain, among other fields.

The government is also collaborating with educational institutions to align IT graduates’ skills with industry needs, bridging the gap between academic training and practical requirements. Additionally, the longstanding Digiskills program continues to enhance the digital capabilities of youth, supporting their integration into the evolving digital economy.
