Pakistan’s Digital Payment Expansion

Pakistan’s Government is advancing digital payments through a strategic partnership with a major payment service provider. The initiative aims to increase digital transactions tenfold by building payment infrastructure and integrating mobile technology for payments. Expanding point-of-sale machines and using various payment methods will include small merchants, not just large businesses.

The government’s focus on digitization is supported by efforts to streamline remittances, improve payment security, and encourage legal channels for funds transfer. This initiative is crucial for economic reforms, contributing to revenue growth and financial inclusion.
