Oman’s government has launched a comprehensive Artificial Intelligence (AI) program to transform its digital economy and support economic diversification as part of its long-term Vision 2040 strategy. This initiative aims to integrate AI across various sectors, including healthcare, finance, and logistics, enhancing public services and fostering innovation to create a sustainable knowledge-based economy.
The government plans to establish AI research centers, develop partnerships with global tech leaders, and invest in workforce education to adapt to a digitally-driven economy. This programme will also implement regulatory frameworks for ethical AI use, positioning Oman as a regional hub for AI development, while boosting foreign investment and creating high-value jobs.
