Australia’s Cybersecurity Initiative

The Australian Government has introduced the Cyber Security Bill 2024, aimed at establishing security standards for smart devices and improving ransomware reporting. This legislation will create a Cyber Incident Review Board to assess significant cybersecurity incidents and enhance collaboration between industry and government, reinforcing support for critical infrastructure under existing security acts.

As part of its broader strategy to lead in cybersecurity by 2030, the government is focused on developing a regulatory framework that not only protects victims but also fosters cooperation with government entities. This initiative emphasizes the critical role of digital technologies in advancing national cybersecurity preparedness and resilience.
