Israel has entered the global quantum computing race with the unveiling of its first domestically developed quantum computer, a 20-qubit system utilizing advanced superconducting technology. This significant achievement stems from a collaboration led by the Israel Innovation Authority, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and Yissum, the university’s technology transfer company.
The breakthrough positions Israel among the select nations capable of building and operationalizing quantum computing infrastructures, with applications spanning defense, industry, and scientific research.
