Digital Customs Data Exchange

Armenia’s State Revenue Committee has proposed measures to simplify customs and transit procedures between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This includes pre-exchanging information about goods in transit, similar to Armenia’s successful collaboration with Georgia. The pre-exchange of scanned images can minimize risks, and other solutions can be based on modern digital platforms. This move aims to streamline trade processes and boost economic cooperation.

A similar system has been effective in Armenia-Georgia trade, significantly simplifying the import process for both countries. Potential solutions will be tailored to specific circumstances. Armenia has proposed a simplified transit route for Azerbaijan through its territory. This offer is part of Armenia’s “Crossroads of Peace” project, presented at the BRICS summit.
