Abu Dhabi: E-Books Replace Textbooks

Abu Dhabi schools are taking steps to reduce the weight of students’ backpacks. A new policy enforced by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge requires schools to limit backpack loads to 5-10% of a student’s weight.

To achieve this goal, schools are turning to digital solutions. Many are implementing e-books and online resources, which can be accessed through a single device. This significantly reduces the weight of students’ bags. Additionally, some schools are opting for modular books, allowing students to carry only the necessary chapters for specific classes.
