ASEAN Governments’ Digital Infrastructure Boost

The ASEAN governments are set to build a regional submarine cable network and enhance digital infrastructure interoperability. This initiative aims to secure connectivity and develop resilient digital ecosystems across the eleven-nation bloc, including Brunei, Myanmar, Cambodia, and others. 

In Indonesia, the government’s e-commerce regulations led TikTok to merge with Tokopedia, expanding its market presence. Meanwhile, the Indian government has reduced import duties on mobile components to bolster local manufacturing, reflecting its push towards a competitive digital economy.
