Australia acquires US lethal drones

The Australian government is enhancing its military capabilities by acquiring the Switchblade 300 drone from the US, a high-tech, precision loitering munition used effectively in the Ukraine conflict. This digital drone technology, capable of carrying explosive payloads and performing beyond-line-of-sight strikes, will soon be integrated into the Australian Defence Force’s arsenal.

The government’s $10 billion investment in uncrewed aerial systems underscores its commitment to modernizing defense technology and addressing the evolving demands of lethal drone warfare. This move reflects a strategic focus on leveraging advanced digital technologies for national security.
