Australia’s Climate Reporting Bill

The Australian Government has passed a bill mandating climate risk disclosure for large and medium-sized companies, marking a significant step in its sustainable finance strategy. This legislation aligns with international standards set by the IFRS Foundation’s ISSB, requiring disclosures on climate risks, opportunities, and greenhouse gas emissions.

The new framework aims to enhance transparency and attract international investment by providing clarity on the transition to a net zero economy. Digital tools will play a crucial role in facilitating compliance and reporting, ensuring effective tracking and management of climate-related data.
