Azerbaijan is set to launch a unified taxonomy for sustainable investments, developed with input from over 110 countries, aimed at standardizing green financing globally. This initiative will simplify the issuance of green loans and provide clarity for investors navigating the current diverse standards. As part of its commitment to sustainable finance, the government plans to reveal a green investment budget aligned with the loan capacity of national banks, signaling its dedication to long-term environmental projects.
The government is also exploring innovative financial products, such as Islamic sukuk bonds, to expand green investment options. By establishing a comprehensive framework for green investments, Azerbaijan seeks to enhance climate finance transparency and foster a consistent approach to sustainability, contributing to the global discourse on responsible financing.
