Governments and businesses globally are increasingly adopting Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks to tackle climate change and drive sustainable development. In Pakistan, the private sector, particularly in textiles, is beginning to align with ESG principles, supported by government initiatives like the Securities and Exchange Commission’s voluntary ESG disclosure guidelines. Digital tools play a crucial role in ESG reporting and transparency, driving innovation and efficiency across industries.
To foster ESG growth, the government and private sector must collaborate, with digital technologies enabling sustainable business practices. A mandatory legal framework and strategic investments in ESG could enhance Pakistan’s global competitiveness, attract green investment, and create new job opportunities.
