The swift advancement and implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies have significant economic, societal, and ethical consequences. Efficient governance is crucial to optimizing AI’s advantages while minimizing its risks.
This technology brief offers policymakers a concise summary of essential governance matters, suggests strategic methodologies for the appropriate oversight of AI technologies, and presents a framework for AI governance. AI governance must be based on sound values. In this section, I discuss some of these values.
