Governments in Europe and Asia are at the forefront of advancing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) investments, leveraging digital tools and regulatory frameworks to enhance ESG adoption. Europe’s robust regulations, such as the Sustainable Finance Disclosures Regulations, and similar policies in Asia, enforce digital disclosures and integrate ESG factors into investment decisions.
This has led to a high adoption rate of 92% in Europe and 76% in Asia. In contrast, North America, with a 53% adoption rate, faces slower progress due to less regulatory pressure and a focus on fiduciary duties. The role of government in setting digital regulations and driving ESG policies is pivotal for fostering a more inclusive and sustainable global investment landscape.
