IT Security Budget Boost

Companies worldwide, including those in Pakistan, plan to increase their IT security budgets by up to 9%. This rise in investment is driven by growing concerns over cybersecurity threats. Large enterprises allocated a significant portion of their IT budget to security, with a median spend of $5.7 million. This investment is crucial in protecting against financial losses from cyber incidents.

Organizations in Pakistan reported an average of 11 cyber incidents over the past year, reflecting a global pattern of cybersecurity challenges. Large enterprises faced challenges in responding to threats, taking several hours to mitigate them. Small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) were disproportionately affected, spending 1.5 times their IT security budgets on recovery. The impact of cyber incidents highlights the need for increased investment in IT security.
