The Kenyan government faces criticism over the Postal Corporation of Kenya’s (PCK) recent decision to increase the cost of digital addresses by over 2000%. The M-Post virtual box service, launched in partnership with Safaricom, will see prices rise from Sh400 to Sh9,450 for corporates and Sh2,000 for individuals.
This increase aligns with standard rates for physical post office boxes. The government’s role in overseeing PCK’s modernization efforts and addressing public backlash highlights ongoing challenges in integrating digital solutions while managing costs and service accessibility.
