Libya’s Ministry of Economy and Trade has finalized a National Free Zone and Transit Trade Strategy to revitalize the economy. The strategy aims to attract foreign and local investment, increase exports and trade, diversify the economy, and create new job opportunities. This comprehensive approach acknowledges Libya’s economic strengths and weaknesses, identifying opportunities and threats.
The strategy emphasizes public-private collaboration, focusing on infrastructure development, legislative reform, and efficient investment mechanisms. With a 15-year phased implementation plan, the Ministry will rollout free zones across Libya, developing specific action plans for each economic zone to secure resources and unlock their potential.
