Turkey’s competition board has terminated its investigation into Meta Platforms regarding data-sharing between Threads and Instagram. The decision comes after Meta presented commitments to address competition concerns, which were deemed sufficient by the authority .
As part of these commitments, existing and new Threads users will be able to use the platform without requiring an Instagram account. Meta has also assured the authority that data obtained through Threads will not be merged with Instagram unless users choose to do so .
