The Namma Metro has become the most preferred mode of transport for millions of Bengalureans over the years. Now, in a move to enhance passenger amenities, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) has introduced smart digital luggage lockers at three Metro stations. The lockers, from SafeCloak, have been introduced at Majestic, Chikpet and Benniganahalli Metro stations where commuters can keep their luggage and travel. The locker usage fee will depend on the size of the baggage and the duration for which it is kept.
The digitized lockers can be operated from one’s mobile phones with one-time passwords (OTP) after registering with name, email ID and mobile phone number. A code is used for locking and unlocking the lockers. An attendant will also be around to help with operating the lockers.
