The European Policy Commission recently released a report called “A Quantum Cybersecurity Agenda for Europe” that highlights the urgent need for Europe to prepare for the quantum threat. The report compares the quantum threat to the nuclear arms race and climate change, emphasizing that it has the potential to irrevocably change the international landscape.
Unlike traditional cybersecurity threats, the quantum threat poses a unique challenge. Quantum computers will soon have the ability to crack the encryption algorithms currently used to protect sensitive information.
