The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has introduced voluntary Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosure guidelines for listed companies, emphasizing transparent reporting on environmental impacts, social responsibility, and corporate governance. These guidelines, part of the SECP’s broader ESG regulatory roadmap, align with global sustainability reporting standards, urging all companies to consider their adoption. Alongside, substantial amendments mandate listed firms to develop anti-harassment policies in compliance with workplace legislation.
Under the SECP’s oversight, listed companies are now required to prioritize sustainability, establish sustainability committees, and adhere to the newly introduced ESG disclosure guidelines, reflecting a concerted effort to promote responsible business practices and environmental stewardship in Pakistan’s corporate landscape.
