Singapore Enhances Cybersecurity Law

Singapore’s Government updated cybersecurity law expands oversight over critical computer systems, including temporary setups for vital services like vaccine distribution and international events. Mandating incident reporting and audits for essential service providers, the Cyber Security Agency aims to address increasing cyber threats amid rising digitalization.

The government also regulates third-party vendors and designates key systems and events for enhanced protection, enforcing penalties for non-compliance. This legislation aligns with evolving tech trends and business models, emphasizing the need to safeguard digital infrastructure and maintain public trust in the digital ecosystem amidst growing cyber threats.
