Taiwan’s IoT Security

The Bureau of Standards, Metrology, and Inspection (BSMI), Taiwan’s key regulatory organization, has recognized the critical necessity to confront the cyber security threats head-on.

To reduce vulnerabilities and boost consumer confidence in the rapidly developing IoT market, BSMI has taken proactive steps by introducing cyber security requirements within its Voluntary Product Certification (VPC) programme, focusing on four types of IoT devices: “smart poles,” “renewable energy system inverters,” “electric vehicle charging systems,” and “elevator control system equipment.”
