Thai Government Launches Digital Facial Recognition for Airports

The Thai government has introduced a new digital facial recognition system to enhance passenger identification at six major airports. This automated biometric system will streamline the check-in, security, and immigration process, reducing wait times for domestic travellers, with international travellers gaining access soon.

By integrating digital technology, the government aims to improve efficiency and security in airports. Biometric data will be captured alongside passports, enhancing the travel experience while maintaining security standards. The system’s future expansion will depend on further government announcements regarding exemptions for certain nationalities.
