U.K. Launches E-Waste Gold Facility

The U.K. Government’s Royal Mint has launched a groundbreaking facility in South Wales for extracting gold from e-waste, aiming to enhance sustainability and reduce reliance on traditional mining. This 3,700 square meter plant utilizes Excir’s patented technology to recover gold from electronic waste such as circuit boards. The process operates at room temperature, offering an energy-efficient and cost-effective solution.

This initiative supports the U.K. Government’s environmental objectives by addressing the increasing challenge of e-waste and promoting the use of recycled materials. The digital innovation in this facility contributes to advancing sustainable practices in the precious metals sector.
