Issues include inadequate labeling of electronic storage media and insufficient policies on file transfers, alongside security lapses in the destruction facility where sensitive information is handled.
The DOJ is pushing for stricter controls and detailed inventory practices to ensure the secure disposal of electronic devices containing sensitive information. This initiative aims to bolster digital security and safeguard classified and sensitive data from potential breaches.
