The U.S. Government’s Agency for International Development (USAID) has introduced a new $14.6 million digital policy, updating its previous strategy from April 2020. The policy focuses on enhancing information integrity, protecting against malicious cyber activities, and upholding democratic values in technology use. It emphasizes cybersecurity, responsible AI adoption, and the development of digital infrastructure.
USAID’s policy aims to improve digital knowledge, promote privacy and security, and support digital ecosystems worldwide. It includes plans to create a new office for better digital and cybersecurity integration, hire Digital Development Advisors, and establish DigitalDevelopment.org as a resource hub. Additionally, USAID’s initiatives will fund cybersecurity enhancements in Europe and support telecommunications advancements in India.
