Textbook Crisis Threatens Education

In Pakistan, government schools in Sindh are facing a severe shortage of textbooks, affecting over 11.6 million students. The delay in printing and distributing free textbooks by the Sindh Textbook Board has resulted in a lack of essential course materials, with textbooks for various grades either incomplete or unavailable. This issue, compounded by the failure of publishers to meet deadlines, jeopardizes students’ education.

The Sindh government’s inefficient textbook distribution system and delayed procurement processes highlight the need for digital solutions to streamline production and distribution. Implementing digital management systems could enhance efficiency and ensure timely delivery of educational materials, thus addressing persistent challenges in the education sector.
