In response to a major NHS cyberattack attributed to a Russian gang, the Government of the United Kingdom is poised to introduce new cybersecurity measures. The upcoming King’s Speech is expected to outline stricter regulations for protecting essential infrastructure, including the NHS and transport networks, and enhancing rules for third-party contractors.
The attack, which disrupted over 800 operations and 700 outpatient appointments, highlighted vulnerabilities in digital supply chains. The new measures will aim to fortify defenses across all providers and improve data management to mitigate future cyber threats, ensuring robust protection against digital threats.
