The Indian Government has approved the development of 12 industrial smart cities across six major industrial corridors, with an estimated investment of Rs 28,602 crore. This initiative aims to attract significant investments and create around 4 million jobs while promoting balanced regional development. The smart cities will feature advanced infrastructure, integrating ICT-enabled utilities and green technologies.
Additionally, the India Government is advancing railway infrastructure with Rs 6,456 crore allocated for three projects to enhance logistical efficiency and supply chains. A further Rs 4,136 crore has been approved for hydropower projects in the northeast, aiming to boost energy capacity and regional development. These efforts align with the broader strategy to foster economic growth and global competitiveness.
