The Pakistan Government recognizes the freelance sector as a pivotal force in the nation’s economic transformation, with over 1.5 million freelancers boosting digital entrepreneurship. Freelancers contributed over $3.2 billion in IT and IT-enabled services to export earnings, marking a significant increase. 

This growth has empowered youth and women, particularly in rural areas, fostering economic stability. However, challenges like internet disruptions, lack of reliable payment systems, and rising electricity costs hinder further expansion. Addressing these issues through enhanced digital infrastructure and policy support could amplify the sector’s economic impact.
