Qatar’s Digital Asset Framework

The Qatar Government, through the Qatar Financial Centre Authority (QFCA) and Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA), has introduced the QFC Digital Assets Framework. This new framework, part of the Third Financial Sector Strategy, provides a comprehensive legal and regulatory structure for digital assets, including tokenization, smart contracts, and custody arrangements. It aims to create a secure and transparent digital asset ecosystem in alignment with international standards.

The framework reflects Qatar’s commitment to digital transformation and high regulatory standards. By establishing clear regulations for digital assets, the government seeks to foster industry confidence and attract both domestic and international participants, enhancing Qatar’s financial sector competitiveness and supporting broader national development goals.
