The UK’s Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system is being rolled out to millions of international visitors. The system requires tourists to gain permission to enter the country as part of plans to fully digitize its borders. The ETA will be required for entry into the UK for non-Europeans.
Eligible visitors, including those from the US, Canada, and Australia, can apply for the ETA. Europeans will also be required to have an ETA, with applications opening soon. The ETA scheme offers a lower-cost option with multi-entry validity, replacing the previous Electronic Visa Waiver (EVW) scheme.
