Vietnam’s Digital Signature Revolution

Vietnam’s digital transformation is gaining momentum, with over 12.4 million adults using personal digital signatures, accounting for more than 20% of the adult population. Digital signatures are primarily used for tax filings, electronic customs, and social insurance transactions. However, their adoption in banking, online shopping, and e-commerce is still limited. The government aims to increase digital signature adoption to over 70% by 2030.

To achieve this goal, the Ministry of Information and Communications is promoting the development of platforms that integrate digital signatures across various fields. The government also aims to raise public awareness and accessibility of digital signatures through public campaigns and training programs. Online tutorials and workshops are being proposed to make digital signatures more accessible. By 2025, the government targets all Vietnamese adults to have personal digital signatures, a crucial step towards a more connected and efficient digital economy.
