Battery-Powered Locomotives 

Rio Tinto Group, a leading global mining corporation, has announced plans to conduct trials of battery-powered locomotives in Australia. The mining company operates massive autonomous trains, known as the world’s largest and longest robots, to transport iron ore across the vast Outback.

The introduction of battery-powered locomotives is expected to help Rio Tinto achieve its environmental goals. The company is committed to cutting direct greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030.
