Atlanta’s $60 Million Homelessness Plan

Atlanta’s mayor and city council have proposed a $60 million initiative to combat homelessness. Mayor Andre Dickens’ bond plan allocates $50 million, while an additional $10 million will come from the affordable housing trust fund over six years. If approved, this funding will create up to 700 affordable housing units, including 500 “quick-delivery” units with on-site services and up to 200 permanent supportive units.

Digital tools will play a crucial role in this initiative. Advanced data management systems and digital platforms will be utilized to streamline the housing allocation process, track progress, and ensure efficient deployment of resources. This tech-driven approach aims to address the 63% increase in unsheltered homelessness since 2022 and is the largest single investment in Atlanta’s history for tackling homelessness. By integrating digital solutions, the city hopes to enhance the effectiveness and transparency of its homelessness response efforts.
