Australian Government Reshuffles Cyber Security Leadership

The Australian Government has appointed Tony Burke as the new Minister for Cyber Security and Home Affairs, in a major cabinet reshuffle. This move underscores the government’s focus on strengthening digital security and streamlining related functions. Burke will also oversee immigration and multicultural affairs.

 Additionally, a new advisory role has been created for cyber security and digital resilience, highlighting the government’s commitment to addressing technological challenges and opportunities. The reshuffle includes relocating the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) to the Attorney-General’s department to enhance coordination with the Australian Federal Police.
