Beijing’s Digital Growth

The Beijing Municipality Government’s digital economy grew 7.8% in the first half of the year, outpacing the city’s GDP growth. This sector contributed over 60% to economic growth, with notable increases in information services and electronic manufacturing. The government’s initiatives include extensive autonomous driving tests, a significant number of internet hospitals, and a surge in patents and investments in core digital industries. 

Beijing’s investment in 5G infrastructure, with 122,000 base stations, reflects its commitment to technological innovation and digital transformation, positioning the city as a leader in the digital economy.
