The Berlin Government’s plan to streamline the registration and address change process through digital means has faced delays. Initially set for early this year, the launch has been pushed to October due to technical issues encountered in Hamburg, which Berlin is adopting to avoid similar problems. The digital registration aims to ease the burden of long wait times at municipal offices, allowing residents to complete these tasks online.
Currently, some administrative functions, such as vehicle registration and obtaining residence certificates, are available digitally but used infrequently. To address this, the Berlin Government is preparing a marketing campaign to boost awareness and adoption of these online services, enhancing convenience and efficiency in municipal procedures.
