The African governments face the challenge of increasing fertilizer use from 18kg/ha to 50kg/ha to meet the growing demand for nutritious produce and double agricultural output. Despite the 2006 Abuja Declaration setting a target, fertilizer consumption remains insufficient. Embracing digital tools and data can significantly enhance fertilizer application and improve soil quality.
By integrating digital farming techniques with sustainable agricultural practices, such as Integrated Crop Management (ICM) and Integrated Landscape Management (ILM), governments can drive progress in food security and agricultural efficiency.
