Comoros Digital Payment Integration

The Comoros Government, in collaboration with the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS), has initiated integrating digital cross-border payment services to support the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). This system enables direct payments in Comorian francs, reducing transaction costs and delays. Utilizing digital technologies strengthens the financial system, enhances economic integration, and facilitates seamless trade between African countries.

With the Central Bank’s active involvement, commercial banks in Comoros will soon integrate PAPSS, empowering citizens to make fast and affordable payments across Africa, and promoting a more inclusive financial environment.
