Djibouti Migrant Rescue Efforts

The Djibouti Government is leading rescue operations after smugglers forced over 100 migrants into the sea off the coast of Djibouti. The tragic incident has resulted in at least 45 confirmed deaths, making it the deadliest year for sea crossings on the East Africa-Yemen migration route. Efforts to locate the missing migrants continue, with over 150 people already rescued.

The government’s role, supported by digital resources, ensures swift emergency search and rescue responses. Technology aids in tracking and managing one of the world’s busiest and riskiest migration corridors, enhancing safety measures.
