Digital economy in region projected to increase from $180 bn in 2022 to $780 bn by 2030. The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia defines the digital economy as an economy centered on digital technologies. These encompass infrastructure, software, networks and devices, along with digital mechanisms for conducting economic transactions online. 

Digital economy in the MENA region could increase from $180 billion in 2022 to $780 billion in 2030. It reflects a 20 percent annual growth. The digital economy’s contribution to the region’s gross domestic product could rise from 4.1 percent in 2022 to 13.4 percent in 2030.
