Government of Tanzania Enhances Infodemics Management Training

The Government of Tanzania is strengthening its efforts to manage misinformation and enhance public health responses to Cholera outbreaks. A recent socio-ecological survey in the Simiyu region revealed that misinformation, such as beliefs about Cholera being caused by witchcraft, hampers public health initiatives.

WHO and AIRA conducted a three-day virtual training for public health officers using a digital learning platform in response. This training aims to improve infodemics management by equipping officials with skills for integrated analysis and real-time insights, crucial for refining health strategies and promoting effective preventive measures.
