Green Industrial Partnership Launch

The UK and Norway are launching a new Green Industrial Partnership to combine their expertise in clean energy and drive economic growth. This partnership aims to create thousands of new, skilled jobs in the UK and support the country’s goal of becoming a clean energy superpower by 2030. The partnership will focus on enhancing cooperation across various sectors, including future clean energy innovations. This initiative follows a groundbreaking new deal to build the UK’s first carbon capture projects in the North East.

The partnership will also explore opportunities for cross-border carbon capture and storage under the North Sea. The UK and Norway have committed to initiating work to identify gaps and challenges in developing their common North Sea as a hub for carbon storage. This collaboration is expected to deliver significant economic and environmental benefits, including the creation of new jobs and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
