India: Gujarat Smart City Project

The Smart City Mission in India has made significant progress, with 339 projects completed out of 354 in six cities, including Ahmedabad. A total of ₹10,824 crore has been spent on these projects, with an additional ₹627.22 crore allocated for 15 more projects. The mission aims to develop cities across India, focusing on economy, institutions, and social aspects. The goal is to create top-notch healthcare systems, governance, transportation, and infrastructure.

Surat leads the way with 82 projects, followed by Rajkot with 37 and Ahmedabad with 70. Ahmedabad has only one project left, valued at ₹2,626 crore. The Smart City initiative has brought significant investment to these cities, with a focus on sustainable development and improved quality of life. The mission has also promoted innovation and entrepreneurship, driving economic growth in these cities.
